Ferrari California T Twin Turbo V8

Ferrari California T a worthy successor to the iconic Ferrari F40 V8 Twin Turbo!

Finally Ferrari have seen the writing on the wall for a while now with the new F1 2014 Season looming between the Twin Turbo powered Formula One factory backed turbo cars about to take to our TV screens for the next exciting years battle.

While their major luxury car manufacturers and competitors have been producing Turbocharged factory production vehicles for quite some years now, Ferrari have also come to the party now with a slightly retro California ‘T’! At least to my eyes anyway! And that’s not a bad thing by any means, with its retractable hard top which transforms the California T from a cheeky coupé into a supine spider in under 15 seconds.

Ferrari quote that due to “zero turbo lag” the 8-cylinder twin IHI turbo endowed engine combines phenomenal performance combined with blistering acceleration! This is produced with a torque curve that adapts to suit each gear change resulting in reduced fuel consumption and less emissions through to 100 Kilometres per hour from standstill in 3.6 Seconds.

316 km/h is only a short jail sentence away after you exceed those first few seconds with your foot to the floor.

Of course being cosseted in all that fine bovine stitched hide in immaculate seats by Lear, the HARMAN BECKER Infotainment system is only out done by the near instantaneous Getrag Dual-clutch F1 transmission gear changes harmonising with the V8 and 755 Nm (77 kgm) @ 4750 rpm of torque being melded with the unfortunate tarmac below the beefy Bridgestone or Pirelli Tyres.

Fortunately the Brembo Carbon Ceramic Braking System has the required balls to retain the 412 kW (560 cv) @ 7500 rpm if you dont and wont unleash it, as I am sure the Ferrari test driver did before you bought it.
