The following is the continuing GODZILLA Legend.
- Tokyo -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today Jan. 6th 1995,
announced the domestic release of the new Skyline GT-R, which was exhibited as a reference
model at the 30th Tokyo Motor Show in 1993. Since the first-generation PGC10 model was
launched in 1969, the Skyline GT-R has established a brilliant record of success in
numerous motor sport events as a high-performance machine representative of Japanese
automotive technology. This new model is the fourth generation in this distinguished
series. The new Skyline GT-R has been developed around the concept of pursuing optimum
enjoyment through dynamic performance that faithfully reflects the driver's intentions for
the ultimate in driving pleasure. Nissan's aim was to build a safer and faster
high-performance car that would run, turn and stop according to the driver's wishes.

Overview of Skyline R33 GT-R Vspec N1
1. Exterior design symbolizing speed and achieving
superior aerodynamics and engine cooling performance. The styling objective was to achieve a
functional design symbolic of the Skyline GT-R's impressive dynamic performance.
Projecting a powerful and spirited appearance, the exterior design is characterized by a
low center of gravity and a wide feeling, thanks to the treatment of the front bumper,
blister fenders and other styling features. |
- The new Skyline GT-R adopts a rear spoiler with a
mechanism that allows a four-way adjustment of the spoiler angle, a front spoiler and side
sill protectors. These parts serve to optimize the aerodynamic balance at the front and
rear along with achieving a better Cd figure of 0.35 compare with that of preceding model
of 0.40. To improve the cooling performance of the engine, the car adopts a front bumper
with a large lower grille and a mesh-design radiator grille.

- 2.Interior design that combines functionality with safety
- The layout of the instrumentation, control switches and levers
has been designed to allow quick and accurate execution of driving operations. COCKPIT
view Adopted specifically as the front seating system in the Skyline GT-R are monoform
bucket seats that assure in excellent driving: position while holding the body firmly. All
models are equipped with a driver-side air Bag supplemental restraint system as standard
equipment for high-level safety. ill addition, the design of the steering wheel used in
the new GT-R model places emphasis on gripping and steering ease.

- 3.RB26DETT engine with,
improved torque output
- Powering the Skyline GT-R is the
RB26DETT engine that boasts outstanding power and torque levels along with superior
durability and reliability. This DOHC 24-valve in-line 6-cylinder engine is equipped with twin ceramic turbochargers and an intercooler. The engine's maximum
torque output has been increased by 1.5 kg-m to 37.5 kg-m at 4400 rpm as a result old
various improving, including raising the peak boost pressure of the turbochargers,
revising the computer control parameters and improving the intercooler. Pick-up
performance in the intermediate speed range has been enhanced through more accurate
computer control over the operation of the engine.

- 5.Enhanced Safety and Environmental Friendliness
- High-level Safety Safety has been addressed through
vigorous pursuit of both active and passive safety. A notable example in the area of
passive safety is the adoption of a driver-side air bag SRS as standard equipment on all
models. By incorporating an array of Nissan's advanced safety technologies, the Skyline
GT-R provides high-level safety performance. Environmental Friendliness Extensive
measures have also been taken to promote environmental protection and effective use of
natural resources, including the adoption of an ozone-safe air conditioner, elimination of
all use of asbestos and promotion of recycling.
- Prices and Sales Target
- The GT-R model is priced at 4,785,000 YEN and the GT-R V.spec
at 5,290,000 YEN in the Tokyo area. Nissan projects a combined monthly sales volume of 600
units.
